I find myself thinking about Mary Matalin. |
|
When did she leave the WH, i.e., all of her work, especially her membership in WHIG? Did she return? If yes, when?
The main reason I think about her is her personality, motivation, her daughters, and the way she treated her husband on tv.
Why would a mother of two young kids conspire with the Bush, the VP, and other members of WHIG to pull off a phoney war that involved knowingly approving the creation of forged documents, the exposure of a CIA front company, and resulting smears of a family in exchange for the profit of a few?
Is she inherently dishonest or a supreme Republican? Is she cold as ice about the prospect of killing and maining our young soldiers and the innocent people of Iraq. Is she indifferent to perpetual war or does she see a value to her or her friends?
Is she protected by her dates of employment or has she always been a member of WHIG?

She and Carville have the same job. I don't think either cares about the consequences.
People will do things they normally would not do for buckets of money.
Her children will be insulated from reality with cash. Lots if it.

2. Why should she care? She has daughters, not sons, and they're too young |

9. WHIG is WHITE HOUSE INFORMATION GROUP - set up to market |
|
the war against Iraq. Yes, the word used to describe it is 'market' the war against Iraq. Cheney, Card, Libby, Wilkinson, Rove, Matalin and a few others. Bush met with the WHIG group often.
They assumed ly designed the plan for the forged documents, the forged wmd that were to be planted in Iraq and possibly discovered by the squad that Miller was embedded with.
They probably didn't include in their plan the handling of Plames classified personnel file that was passed around by Bush, Rove, Powell, and a few others on the infamous flight to Africa on AF1 in 2003.
Enter WHIG and white house or card and iraq in google and keep your eyes open when reading DU and other sites. Knowing WHIG will provide more context for your reading.

6. To defend Mary...to a degree |
|
It very well could be that she actually, truly believed that Saddam had to go. As far as her actual knowledge re: "knowingly approving the creation of forged documents, the exposure of a CIA front company, and resulting smears of a family", one does have to wonder if she was a "believer in the cause" and left when she found out about the seamer side of the WHIG plan.
One thing is true; she may have, and probably does, knowledge and recollection of events, conversations, and meetings that Fitzgerald maybe interested in (either for a trial or for a report, or both).
And a word about James;
He strikes me as a man that would consider a few other factors, other than money, when looking for a "job" in his line of work.
IMHO, the WHIG group is about to be exposed. How this plays in the media and on the main street will be very interesting to watch. Just how will the sheeple take it when they "find and or figure" out that they were manipulated into sending their sons and daughters off to be maimed and killed? Depending on the timing, the answer could come a year from now.

11. Thought she's out still. |
|
I know she came back for a while, but I thought I read something were she has left again. But even if she is still back, that does not mean she's back at WHIG. She may know the danger that is coming and is willing help an "old man" as long as she is protected from the WHIG firestorm.
Don't forget compartmentalization is big with this gang.

12. OK, this is what wikipedia says: |
|
snip "Matalin, a colleague of Karl Rove, worked for Vice President Dick Cheney in the White House. She attended meetings of the White House Iraq Group, a secretive internal White House task force convened in August 2002 (nine months before the 2003 Invasion of Iraq). WHIG was charged with the task of educating the US public about the threat from Saddam Hussein's purported weapons of mass destruction.
Matalin resigned her responsibilities as of 31 December 2002.<1> Although Matalin left the White House more than six months before the leak that triggered the Valerie Plame scandal, she is reported to have testified before the grand jury of Independent Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald. (Notes and records of WHIG meetings were subpoenaed by Fitzgerald in January 2004.)"
