James Barton (wall builders) trying to turn Blacks against Democrats
Edited on Sat Oct-29-05 12:38 PM by Quixote1818
I was just flipping through the channels and came upon this Christian channel and their was this Black guy talking about how Dem's have never had a Black Chair the Democratic National Convention and the Republicans have twice. Then they cut to Barton who was cherry picking and twisting US history in such an absurd, dishonest, radical way way it was simply comical yet at the same time scary. He was talking about how Dem's had slaughtered thousands of Blacks and the Dem's in the south were basically no different than the KKK. This went on and on and on. Of course he doesn't have anyone to give an opposing viewpoint and did not even touch on the bloody past of the Republicans not to mention how Republicans fought every civil rights law Democrats tried to pass through the middle part of the last century.

I have no doubt that Democrats in the south pulled all kinds of crap in the 1800 but so did Republicans. Everyone was prejudice then in the south. What Barton failed to mention was that North East Liberals like Emerson, Mark Twain among others were the biggest champions for Civil rights.

This is not a subject I know that much about and their is enough shame of both party's to go around on this subject however James Barton's evil lying way of trying to put Democrats in the worst possible light and Republicans in the best possible light is so blatantly dishonest I truly feel like throwing up! :puke:

By the way, how do these fucking dishonest Christian channels that attack the Democratic Party so blatantly retain their tax exempt status??? Fuck that burns me up!

4. They can try ...
But people see the truth ... The month leading to Katrina the Rs were making a SERIOUS push to try and con their way into black votes, then Katrina hit and the way this admin/party REALLY see blacks was exposed ...

John Conyers was even warning the party that the Rs were making a real run at the black religious leaders in key city areas, trying to steer the masses from the pulpit like they do with the religious right ...

But, Actions speak INFINITELY louder than words ...

You will get people who sell out, be the front people, but the vast majority of african americans have the common sense to know when they are being used ... And, events will continue to occur that exposes their true nature, but it this pukebag talking about aborting black babies a couple weeks ago or this recent incident ...

5. Bush Polls *2%* Among Blacks Now
Edited on Sat Oct-29-05 01:47 PM by AndyTiedye
You have to go all the way back to the Civil War to find a time when the Republicans were the good guys.

Now the Republicans eat cake while New Orleans drowns:

and Bush** polls 2% among black people.
Even David Duke and George Wallace never got that low.

7. It pays, though, to know your history
In the South during Jim Crow and the Civil Rights Movement, southern Democrats (otherwise known as Dixiecrats) were powerful racists. It is also good to know that many of these Dixiecrats switched to the GOP when they felt abandoned by the party and northern Democrats over civil rights issues. If you look at the votes for the 1964 Civil Rights Act, you will find that 22 Democrats voted against it and only 5 Republicans. 21 of those Democrats were Dixiecrats. Many of these Dixiecrats later defected to the Republican party with one notable exception; that being Robert Byrd. Who, incedently led the filibuster against the Act. It must be pointed out Robert Byrd has since rehabilitated himself.

8. It is disgusting
And they probably know what they're doing. I'm sure money is involved somewhere. And in 1965 when Lyndon Johnson signed the 1965 voting rights act he said "We're (democrats) going to lose the south for a long time." Looks like he was right about that one.
