My State Rep "Medical Care not mentioned in the Constitution"
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 10:15 PM by usregimechange
"Our form of government (as designed) doesn’t even mention medical care in our constitution." I was telling him that the MO Medicaid Cuts were a bit extreme and hurtful to the disabled.

1. I like to think of medical care
as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness--very much part of the Constitution.

9. Minor oops
The words you quoted are from the Declaration of Independence.

Me, I'd hang my hat on the "promote the general welfare" language of the Preamble.

2. Really? Where does the Constitution mention lobbyists?
Those wonderful people that the person you talked to is no doubt eager to transfer the public treasury to.

3. Nor does it mention bloated salaries for House and Senate members,
or a grotesquely corrupt military with bases scattered all around the world.

5. The Constitution was written for white male land owners.
It took nothing into consideration for slaves or women. How people can talk about how great this constitution was when it didn't address slaves or the needs of women, is beyond me.

13. Amen. And down with the corporate sinning entities.
While we are at it, let's end corporations. They are just a way to let individuals escape their responsibilities. I say that is a lax, permissive, and downright libertine way to allow people to run rampant and commit grievous sins.

I wasn't kidding.
