Pew Poll on crossover appeal...
Sorry if this is already posted but I found an article at WaPo that had this very interesting link that I thought I'd share.

http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?ReportID=261

It's on crossover appeal for prospective '08 nominees.

My personal high points...

Edwards has the highest Dem. general approval rating of the Dems (at 68%) even with Bill Clinton in the mix.

48% of Repubs have a favorable opinion of Edwards (the highest Dem.).

Hillary is clearly a polarizing figure that should be avoided.

Just my humble opinion!

Any thoughts?

1. I love Edwards...
and his wife is awesome, too. They are sharp, intelligent, compassionate people who are always working for what is best for the country. Edwards is a southern man, too, which would hold great appeal for Southern on-the-fencers...Edwards has the potential to reach all those people who vote occasionally or not at all.

Hillary scares me...

4. My old Repuge boss said he'd vote for
Hillary or Edwards...I don't know if he really would, since he's a faithful creature of habit...

5. It's a bit late to brainstorm that Edwards is likeable
And it equates to swaying votes from people who would normally reject us. I was among the Edwards supporters in '04. Haven't seen AP in a while, come to think of it. He was the premier Edwards booster on DU.

Thank you for this poll. I know I saw it in another forum, perhaps Politics/Campaigns, but not necessarily here. PEW does excellent work. I'm looking forward to their next report on party identification to see if Bush's ongoing problems have had an impact there.
