2. Dean made a number of missteps
Particularly in articulating foreign policy. SOmetimes it looked like he was waffling, sometimes it looked like he genuinely didn't know. That's sort of what did it for me.

But I haven't had the chance to vote yet, and I haven't 100% chosen any of the candidates.

4. He has my vote but needs more.
I've been watching all the candidates for about 9 months. Watched all the debates, listened to lots of talking heads, candidates interviews etc., and made my decision to support Howard Dean about 5 months ago.

Howard needs a coach to guide him through the rough media waters that being a "not a Democrat Insider" candidatee brings with it. If you listened, for many months, all the reporters talked about how he couldn't be the nominee because ...he was only a Governor, just a little State like Vermont, wasn't tall enough, was from a white New England elite background, didn't talk enough about religion....

I this they were all shocked that so many "regular people" wanted HIM!

There are always 2 ways to say the same thing, and although I sure don't want to see Howard couch his words, someone more experience than me needs to help him say what he believes, but in a bit more diplomatic way.

I still think he is the best Candidate for our Country, but I am also a STRONG MEMBER of the ABBA Campaign!

11. Been there,
done that...won't get my vote.

If he wins the nomination and begins to show some presidential qualities and puts forth impressive foreign policy and economic statements I may reconsider for the GE. Will have to see if getting rid of Trippi brings forth an improvement.

14. Be nominated at the convention

Until then, I'm with Kucinich.

If you're really asking how the Dean campaign COULD have won me over or how it could pick me up in the event that Kucinich left the race, I'll have to say that Dean would have to do something about the mismatch between his style and his actual record/beliefs and become a REAL progressive instead of just playing one on TV.

20. I agree
It's the only way now for me to support Dean. Every other Dem candidate, including Lieberman, is vastly superior to Dean IMO

15. I'm not involved at the primary level, but if he gets the nod
he gets my vote.

And a big letter of thanks for his promise to pursue meaningful election reform.

22. He HAS my primary vote already.
I don't think he can lose it.

If he's the nominee, obviously he'll have my vote in November -- as will whoever our nominee is.

23. Re-hire Joe Trippi
I'm sorry, Trippi was the Dean campaign. Having worked in politics, I know behind every candidate, there is the shadow candidate. With Clinton in '92 it was Carville, with Bush it's Rove. With Dean it was Trippi - who deserves all the credit for the Dean surge and had he continued would have reversed the numbers after the supposed 'meltdown.'

Expect Dean to lose the fire and all of the charisma until he bows out - he will be just like everyone else at this point.
