The Mind of a Wingnut: (how incredibly ignorant)
http://www.divisiontwo.com/articles/nospin1.html

Like the rest of the world, I watched both the Abu Ghraib and the more recent British abuse scandals unfold on Fox News with a little bit of disgust. I wasn’t surprised by the interrogation tactics employed; anyone who has spent time in the service during wartime has seen these tactics used. I was, however, surprised by the endless stream of liberal commentators who came out of the woodwork to declare the tactics “abuse” and “torture” and to shame our armed forces for doing the job they need to do to protect our freedom at home. It was a liberal, sensationalist media feeding frenzy.

Call me a right-wing conservative Christian if you must (I wear that badge proudly), but I don’t have a problem with our boys doing what they need to do in order to defend themselves and protect the freedoms of their parents back home. What I do have a problem with is our liberal media trotting out every out-of-context interrogation snapshot they can get their tree-hugging fingers on and presenting it to the world as “abuse”. I believe that it is our media’s duty, during wartime, to project a positive image of our country and support the policies and tactics of our administration. Showing photographs of our boys blowing off some steam or having some laughs and then calling it “abuse” and even “torture” only tarnishes our country in the eyes of the world and makes us look disunited.

What rock did this person crawl out from under???

How does killing people in Iraq protect freedom in the United States?

Did he/she/it breed, and how did that manage to happen in such cramped quarters?

Honestly.......

by torturing someone is protecting our freedom at home. Can only hope that Jesus is pissed that this cretin abuses his name and allows someone to have some laughs at his expense.

Edit: Oh my, he belongs to Promise Keepers as well. God have mercy on his soul!

11. That moron assumes that the media
is rightfully a government propaganda tool. Has spent entirely too much time watching FAUX.

Also, safe bet that he's never even considered joining the military, and never given a second's thought to how he'd feel if the US soldiers he claims to be so fond of were on the receiving end of the Abu Ghraib-style abuse.

Just another rightwing asshole.

12. It's part of the cycle of violence that we instigated
I think this kind of lunatic is dangerous. Obviously disturbed, and obviously a wholehearted supporter of the "ends justify the means" nonsense.

I posted a thread here http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2229817

In that thread I commented that the behavior of the troops is appaling, with links to video, and a few of the "new" Abu Ghraib pictures. I am so appaled by the behavior of too many of our troops that I wouldn't wish that kind if treatment on anyone, even the right wing hate filled Crusaders like the person who wrote that tirade.

I think the perception of those of us who are anti-war is shifting. There is too much evidence that this abusive and barbaric behavior isn't an isolated event, but a much wider and more accepted and adapted problem. The Bush Cabal seems to believe it's needed however, which is why they oppose the torture ban bill.

....blinkered, hypocrite who refuses to ack that what our troops were doing to prisoners on a large scale WAS TORTURE of the same type that we supposedly deposed Saddam for - AND that orders to do so came straight from the upper echelons of our government. THIS IS INEXCUSEABLE. Period.

THAT IS FACT and that is the reality of it. Putting a fluffy 'patriotic' poodle skirt on it doesn't make it anything different than what it IS and it IS TORTURE and it makes US part of the problem because we're doing the same inhumane things to PEOPLE that we supposedly are invading their countries and deposing THEIR LEADERS for doing.

17. In regards to Saddam
I have recently started to wonder about that. Since every other contention of the Bush Cabal and the Repugniks has been shown to be false, I have to wonder if perhaps this one was false as well.

After all the supposed reasons for going to war was
1) WMD's. Proven false
2) Co-operation with Terrorists Also proven false
3) Involvement in 9-11. Proven False
4) Failure to disarm in accordance with UN Sanctions Another False.
5) Torture and inhumane treatment of his people.

While number 5 hasn't been looked into to my knowledge, granted I may be wrong there, if it's true it would have been the first true thing that the Repugniks said about the war.

Since the Bushco Regime has been clearly shown as falsifying evidence and information in regards to the first four, I honestly wonder if number 5 isn't also a lie? I mean, they have had Saddam for over a year, and haven't released any information on his supposed "crimes against humanity" leading me to suspect that the "trial" is nothing more than a political witch hunt, making Saddam the scapegoat and creating a de-facto justification of the war in the minds of the Repugnik Syccophant press.

19. Yeah, I was shocked to see that too
I live in Georgia, and even here more and more people are starting to wonder about Bush and actually question him. It's a bit soon to allow this to become a ferverant hope that the Repugniks will be rejected soundly. However it is a good foundation.
