Why do Dean supporters retaliate with RNC smears on Kerry's record?
Many supporters of Dean and Clark have said (in order of frequency):

1) Kerry's inconsistant on foreign policy.
2) He has a liberal voting record that the Repukes will use to crush him.
3) His stance on gun control will kill him in the south.
4) He can't excite the party or raise money the way Dean can.

Funny, sounds just like Ed Gillespie's speech this morning. Some of you forget...you need to offer more a reason why DEMS shouldn't vote for Kerry than Repukes. We are still in a primary and unless you can do that, you won't be able to stop Kerry.

In response to these claims, I'd say....Bring It On.

Kerry served in a war, and has crew mates to attest to his bravery in fighting for his country. He then returned and led a fight to stop it (oops, I guess that's inconsistancy). His record is hard to pigeon hole as being liberal, as votes to cut taxes and for welfare reform can attest. He's an excellent hunter (last fall in Iowa he shot down two birds with two shots) and is not proposing any marked change from current gun control policy except to strenghten and extend provisions that have already been inacted. Finally, in voting so far, Kerry has won across all demographic groups, amid record turn out. The voters were excited, and they were excited to vote for Kerry.

1. Just because Gillespie's a Repub doesn't mean he's got his facts wrong.
I may disagree with most Republican conclusions, but we all pull from the same pool of facts. In this case, I agree with all but #3.

3. Fine, if it makes you feel better, use RNC talking points...it won't help.
their still wrong and false, and even more malicious coming form the RNC. But if ti makes you feel better, say them until your blue in the face. The rest of the country isn't listening.

5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are also Dem talking points...
as you listed them:

1) Kerry's inconsistant on foreign policy.
2) He has a liberal voting record that the Repukes will use to crush him.
3) His stance on gun control will kill him in the south.
4) He can't excite the party or raise money the way Dean can.

As I said, I don't agree with #2, but I'll at least tackle the first one:

1) Kerry IS inconsistent to many of us. To have not voted for a war when one of our allies had had their territory invaded and to give Congressional support to a war when there was zero proof of any danger to the U.S. or our allies is inconsistent.

...and that's a DEMOCRATIC talking point...

4. Kerry Votes AGAINST Iraq War 1 But FOR Iraq War 2.
I'd say that's pretty inconsistent.

He also has missed 60% of his votes this year.

He also voted FOR Patiot Act and No Child Left Behind.

Either Kerry is for the Bush Agenda or he is not on top of things.

Oh, he suggests sending Baker as an envoy to the Middle East. The same James Baker who is representing the Saudi Royal Family against 9/11 Widows.

Oh, he also has recieved huge amounts of money from Telecom Lobbyists and then voted against the public interest and FOR Telecom. And just so you don't try and dismiss this... we need to see KErry's records so we can deteremine the correlationbetween WHEN he recieved money from the Lobbyists and WHEN he voted for their agenda.

6. In 19 years, not 1 piece of health Care Legislation
(NOT ONE PIECE! )
Has been authored by John Kerry.
You'd think if he were one of us he would have at least TRIED.

8. If we were using Republican smear-points, we would have mentioned...
No, those are justthe valid arguments against selecting John F. Kerry
as our nominee. If we were using Republican smear-points, we would
have mentioned:

  • He's a NORTHEASTERN Lib'ruhl! And he clearly doesn't like
    the South or Southerners.

  • He swears (usingthe "F" word in interviews)! What will we tell
    the children?

  • He VOTED to give Our President(TM) the authority to go
and fight the terrorists on their home turf, and now he's got
the nerve to attack Our President(TM) for doing what he told
him to do in the first place!

  • He comes from that same Northeast Liberal State(TM) as
that Ultra-Liberal philandering drunk, Teddie "Chappaquiddick"
    Kennedy.

  • (Whisper this one with me: He's got the "Big C!")

  • In his antiwar hippie days, he threw away his war medals
in an amazing display of how unpatriotic he is. In fact, among
all his Hollyweird Lib'ruhl friends, he probably knows Jane Fonda
personally (if you know what I mean).

  • He's divorced, got his Catholic Marriage annulled, and
    re-married.

  • He's a pro-abortion "Catholic".

They'll have about a million of these concepts fully field-tested
and rolled out in time for November 2nd.
