Santorum blames media, White House for war's unpopularity
http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/politics/13144840.htm

Sen. Rick Santorum took a rare swing Friday at President Bush, saying the war in Iraq has been less than optimal and that some blame for that lies with the White House.

Santorum, a conservative Republican and usually a strong Bush ally, said the unpopularity of the war should be shared between the White House and the media.

...

The media only report the death toll, Santorum said. While conceding that is "a piece of the story," he questioned how the public would have felt about World War II if the media had reported only the body count and not news of cities liberated by the Allies.

And in the same way that World War II was a fight against Naziism and fascism, Santorum said the "war on terror" should really be called a war on Islamic fascists.

I only have one thing to say about Santorum:

Woof!

4. in a way he is right.
The media and the White House share the most blame. They worked together to deceive the nation.

5. Ummm... apparently Sanitorium thinks that people
would, oh, I don't know, ignore the death toll - the more than 2,000 soldiers dead - if the media would JUST tell about the schools being built or the oil being protected or some such shit.

Santorum belongs in a Sanitorium. He's coo-coo! :freak:

10. Protecting this administration is more important than the lives of our
children according to Santorum. The media should tell some good stories about the war he says. That way there wouldn't be so many people turning against it and against Bush. To him that should be as important as the fact that 2050 troops have died and over 10,000 are permanently disabled.

Well, if we listn to him, more troops will be killed and wounded then have to.

I think we should end the war no matter how nice some of it might be. The lives of our troops are more important to me than covering Bush's ass for leading us into a useless war in the first place. You see, unlike most repukes, I support the troops not the administration.

12. this guy is such a hypocritical hack
Primetime nailed him to the wall with his so-called "tort reform" by showing what a hypocrit he is when his wife sued for 500,000 and he testified on her behalf. No one should take this guy seriously.

14. So this officially means a Santorum 'run' in 2008?
Gosh, that's frightening. Though hearing him Shrub-bash is still refreshing.
