3. You're doing it all wrong, dude
Make the rethuglican do the work.
What have conservatives ever done for this country, and especially the working man? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Liberals are responsible for every bit of progressive legislation for the past 100 years.

Lists are easy to find.

8. Family Medical Leave Act.
Edited on Sun Nov-13-05 07:26 PM by blm
For the first time working class people didn't have to worry about losing their jobs when the circumstances of a serious illness or injury to a child, spouse or parent forced them to take time needed to deal with it.

BTW...the Republicans want to get rid of that. Republicans are against REAL family values.

And minimum wage. And updated OSHA legislation, which GOPs also want to retract.

Come on, serry, you haven't been asleep for 20 years now, have you?

21. We UPDATED the legislation to PROTECT the working class.
I don't understand why you aren't GETTING that. It was DIFFERENT legislation ADDED to the original OSHA.

Did you think I meant it was just renewed?

22. Yes, one more time I know
I was looking for NEW legislation..New ideas. Amending existing legislation is not the same.
Look, like it or not the democratic party of the last 20 years has not been the party of FDR! Wages (adjusted for inflation) have gone down substantially for working class people. We have too many DINO's in Congress and that is why so many of us support DK. I would support any legislation he introduced. He opposes everything I want him to. He does represent the majority of Americans..They just don't KNOW it!

9. Absolutely!
It's the MEpublican way to have someone else do all the work, isn't it?

IF it's just handed to him it won't register.

Important things always require 100% attention or they won't be taken seriously. Getting serious and investing the time researching will help the repubtard get some focus in his life.

10. what I've noticed lately........
....is that Republicans more and more are using the word 'reform' to describe their programs. Historically reform is something that the Democrats are known for.

15. "Reform" in repugnicanspeak
means to kill off, defund, make toothless various progressive legislation that benefits people.
I don't recall Democrats using the term, except possibly to rein in abuses of the plutocrats.

5. Raised the min. wage, Family Leave Act,
Of course the min. wage has not been raised since 1996.

We got the Family Leave law, which protected people's jobs when they go on leave in a family emergency.

6. What could they do?
Over the last 20 years, they only had control for two years.

From '85 to '92 Reagan and Bush 1 controlled the White House.

From '92 to '94 Clinton controlled it, the Dems had the congress, but the thugs had the propaganda machine. Bill and Hillary tried for universal health care and were mauled.

In '94, the thugs took over congress and all Bill Clinton could do was work out the best deals he could with them.

And ever since 2001, the fascists have been running the country.

So out of those twenty years, the Dems only had two years to get anything done, but that's not really much time to accomplish very much. Especially against the propaganda machine that the thugs had spent decades building.

And has he supplied you with a list of the "accomplishments" of the thugs in the last 20 years?

Oh, and there's also the Americans with Disabilities act.
