Let's say you've just been elected President ...
Who would you pick to be YOUR press secretary? Be creative, it doesn't have to be someone from the current political or journalism arena -- someone who would handle the Repug's questions and accusations with an iron fist.

My pick: Lewis Black (of Daily Show fame).

And yours?

9. I like your sig-line by the way!
All this Bird-flu nonsense reminds me of the SARs panic. Does anyone remember that one?

Not that I don't think we should consider it a serious threat, but we don't need 24-7 news coverage about the coming 'pandemic' that's going to wipe us out. Let the health officials and medical researchers work on the problem. Ensure adequate funding for disease research and let the people capable of solving these problems do their jobs. Mass panic on the streets and ill-though out emergency spending to large corporate pharmaceutical companies for Tamiflu (which I'm sure is just a payoff to friends in the business sector) isn't gonna do shit. Real medical science could do a whole lot more with that $8 Billion if given to them in research grants 20 years ago. Shit, we'd have probably cured cancer by now if medical research got that kind of yearly funding.
