Uh oh...South Korean Protests. So much for Bush's "Warm Asian Welcome."

A South Korean protester shouts slogans with an anti-U.S. placard at a rally against the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul November 14, 2005. Dozens of civic group leaders hold a rally on Monday to protest against the coming summit of Pacific Rim leaders including U.S. President George W. Bush. The APEC summit opens this week in the South Korean port city of Pusan. Its agenda includes discussions on how to enhance global free trade and minimise damage from a bird flu pandemic. The words on the placard read,'No Bush visit to South Korea'. REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon

4. Hmmmm. I don't read Korean but the sign looks
more Anti Bush than Anti-USA to me. I am hopeful that they are making a distinction there... tho it does appear to the outside world that he was elected in a true-blue DEMOcracee... truth is, he wasn't and he doesn't represent me.

6. so anti-bush and anti-US are the same thing?
No wonder I am called unamerican, apparently hating Bush ("No Bush visit to South Korea") means you are anti-US. I always thought there was a distinction.

12. Sleep on a cub? HAHA!!!! Not much comfortable there!
The reporters should ask Scotty in the nest briefing to take a pic of Shrub's shins! I wonder if he's ever been on a sub? If you don't pay close attention, you trip into every doorway there!

I love this story!

16. If the Asian press asks re: the Marines detained in the Philippines...
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 01:49 AM by rainbow4321
he just may get an earful...Googling about the incident pulls up **a lot** of different Asian newspapers (mainstream and indy press) covering the alleged rape of a woman there by 6 US Marines....punishable by death (one article said life in prison or death penalty).

BUT there seems a good chance the Mongolian people don't get much chimp-destroys-the-world news and may opt to let him stay there a while.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10028235/

Bush’s last stop is Mongolia, where he will be the first sitting U.S. president to visit. The landlocked country has reached out to the United States to avoid the sway of big neighbors China and Russia, sending 120 troops to Iraq and about 50 to Afghanistan. The visit will last just a few hours.

“They’re going to love him in Mongolia ... he may want to stay three days,” Cossa said.
