A chat with an old friend yesterday
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 09:28 AM by Lastlaughin08
I bumped into a friend I hadn't seen for a while at the post office yesterday. This guy was a former neighbor and was always a strong Dem supporter, and soon he and I were ranting about Bush and his crimes, etc. He is a military veteran and served his country. He went on to say he has five or six close friends that were strong Bush supporters, and whenever they talked politics he was dumped on and ridiculed.

But he was smiling broadly when he told me they all have come out now blasting Bush for the mess he has created, and he said "they hate Bush even more that I ever did". He said they can't believe the damage Bush has done to America and regret ever voting for him.

It made my day. We both walked away grinning.

2. I've been hearing more and more of these kinds of conversations...

...lately. The owner of our local video rental store bashes Bush at every opportunity now. Two women in the supermarket checkout line the other day discussing how glad they'll be when Bush is out of office, and wishing we could just "get rid" of his administration now. Yesterday, I ate lunch at a restaurant and overheard a loud and angry discussion in the kitchen about U.S. soldiers and intel agencies torturing people.

3. The one thing that makes me nervous about stories like this
is that it lets the rest of the Repug Party off the hook when they are the enablers and to this day back him up

The Repug Party gave us these clowns

5. I think they will go down with him -
Last time the couldn't get close enough to him. This time they can't get far away enough. Anyone still close to him is in trouble.

It's our job to remind voters how tight these people were with him. Kind of like tossing an anchor to a drowning man.

4. A Bush voter told me
that he thought it was outrageous that republicans in congress would let oil executives testify in hearings without taking an oath. The record energy company profits have turned heads. He blames Bush.
