Video of Countdown's Take on House Resolution Today

Countdown did a great job (again) of exposing this resolution today for what it was - political theater (while pointing out that they made this theater out of the very serious issue of the Iraq War) - they also exposed the supposed ethics probe on Murtha for what it is - political retaliation. Howard Fineman has great remarks on this. So for those who haven't seen the display today or those who want to download it:

1. The GOP bill passed 403 to 3

and I'm still laughing. The dems saw it as the sham it was. Now how is W going to whine incessantly about all those unpatriotic dems? Beautiful move by Pelosi.

Theatre of the absurd, it was. Finally the Dems have some fire in their belly.

5. Fineman's response was interesting. he wasn't his usual blithe

self, but rather either disgusted, fuming, angry, embarrassed. He answered without hesitation that this was retaliation and was solemn. Did you see that too?

It was particularly interesting when he talked about the Democrats storming up the aisle in outrage over Jean Schmidt's remarks.

that fineman is right that we are going to start seeing more big name democrats go head to head with Bush.

11. So do I, my friend, so do I. And the not-so-big-name Dems

should speak up too at every opportunity. They should all make opportunities. I want to see more press conferences and TV interviews by the Dems and the Dem leadership.

I truly believe the pressure from the netroots helps them - so let's all keep calling and blogging and writing letters urging them to speak up.

Thanks for posting it - I liked how the commentators called the Republican version of the bill what it was, which essentially was a sham.
