Pile of Schmidt

Ms. Schmidt: "A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bop, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do."

Ms. Schmidt: "Mr. Speaker, my remarks were not directed at any member of the House and I did not intend to suggest that they applied to any member. Most especially the distinguished gentleman from Pennsylvania. I therefore ask for unanimous consent that my words be withdrawn.

------------------------------

Oh really?
Nah...it didn't sound like you were applying your degrading comments to Murtha at all, bitch.
Nope, not one bit you lying sack of wind.

1. She spewed her hate but now wants to run from it.
A touch late, lady. You hurled hateful words on a veteran and now you want those words you uttered on national TV withdrawn?

Typical GOP, can't take personal responsibility. They dish it out and then run and backpedal from the results.

4. The speaker found her out of order and asked that she withdraw her words.
It all happened in a very short period of time. This is how I remember it, anyways.

2. Witch is right
What a vile person she is. Can you imagine growing up in the house next door to her? She'd always be yelling at you to get off her lawn.

9. I'm with you
I don't entirely fault people for using the term thusly, as it's become ingrained in our language as an insult, but I do wish people would think about it...not in a "PC" sense, but simply to recognize that there are actual people they are denigrating behind the word.

3. I just watched the C-SPAN clip a few minutes ago...
and would love to wring that starred and striped shrew's scrawny little neck. The people of Ohio chose THAT over Hackett? Wonder how many have buyer's remorse.

This was from a prepared statement:

"Mr. Speaker, my remarks were not directed at any member of the House and I did not intend to suggest that they applied to any member. Most especially the distinguished gentleman from Pennsylvania. I therefore ask for unanimous consent that my words be withdrawn."

So she knowingly made those inflammatory remarks then "graciously" backed down? Or did some little minion crank out the withdrawal during all of the commotion?
