She allegedly took $250,000 from indicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff in return for using her influence in high government places to benefit his clients. But when she failed to show up to testify before a Senate committee chaired by Sen. John McCain, he sent U.S. marshals out to bring her in.

She is the president of a Republican anti-environmentalist group based in Washington who has been caught up in the alleged influence peddling of former GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Abramoff donated between $225,000 and $500,000 he collected from his tribal clients to Federici’s nonprofit group, the Council of Republicans for Environmental Advocacy (CREA).

Investigators allege that, in return, Federici used her influence at the Dept. of Interior to help one of the tribes maintain its monopoly over gambling in its home region.

She wrote at least one op-ed piece for GOPUSA, the propaganda “news” site that “employed” the Republican prostitute/reporter, Jeff Gannon.

E-Mails Suggest She Was Lobbyist's Connection to Interior Official

"Unfortunately, she is critical to me."

That's how former lobbyist Jack Abramoff once summed up his relationship with Italia Federici, the president of a Republican environmental group. He told colleagues that although Federici's help was expensive, it was important. Over three years, he directed Indian tribes he represented to contribute about $500,000 to her group.

Yesterday, Federici proved a combative witness before the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. She tangled with senators demanding explanations for a stack of e-mails that suggest she exploited a personal relationship with former deputy interior secretary J. Steven Griles to secretly help Abramoff lobby the department and obtain inside information affecting Abramoff's tribal clients.

2. I watched her entire testimony in jaw-dropping disgust

It was a horror show of corruption, in mythic intensity.

and they were all shaking their heads at the end of it. I coudln't figure out if she's a master of disassembling or just an imbecile. Half the time she was incomprehensible, the other half her answers were "non responsive". And what an attitude.

A life-long hanger-on. Got hooked up to be an aide to Gale Norten and that's all she needed. Screw a few dudes in the right "positions" and use her skankiness to further her lifestyle of free money, no value, no work, no ethics, no morality, simply greed and narcism.

8. It's not fair to assume she was using sex to get ahead

I really don't think we know that to be the case, and it's unfair to assume it simply because she's female and blonde. The rest of what you say, though, I totally agree with.
