Are Alito's memos about Roe v. Wade a trap for Democrats?

I saw parts of a number Sunday shows.

On one of them they were saying they were a trap for Democrats, and the WH and Repubs were hoping they'd bite and make a huge issue of it.

Aside from the obvious answer about media non-liberal bias, is there any other reason to believe this might be the case?

As far as I know the nation favors a pro-choice point of view.

And I don't know that "filibuster" is such a red flag word outside the "beltway," as GOP in Congress try to make it out in DC.
