1. But will anyone pay attention? |
|
My heart breaks for the residents; I hope someone who can do something will be watching this.

2. ABC News did a short segment tonight on the >4,000 still missing |
|
didn't seem to have much substance to it, though.

however, I don't like how they are implying that the LA. Governor and Mayor Nagin were inept. I'm from New Orleans originally, and lived there until 4 years ago, and Nagin, especially is a VERY good mayor...

Disgusted. If there is another major event, natural or man-made, we are fucked.

7. I knew Tom Ridge was dealing with a short deck but I didn't |
|
realize how short until I saw this documentary. He has to be the dumbest sonofabitch, next to Brownie, in the whole United States.
This is one documentary that everyone should watch! Many revealing facts about how inept our government indeed is.

The martial law story with over 200 shot dead is one story to investigate. The displacement of all those that lived there before is another. Of course, the Halliburton/KBR connection...as well as following up on separate stories from individuals who went through the disaster...
All in all, a sad story indeed and another excellent job from the Frontline crew generally. I was a little pissed about how Nagin was somewhat being attacked for a situation he could not control as well as NO mention that the Bush administration has cut back funding for building levees by 80% since the Chimp was given the keys.
From someone who lived in Nawlins for about 6 years, it still is rather surreal to even imagine the devastation. I'll be going back this winter for a quick visit...
