Murtha on NPR 12/1/05... I wish I had a transcript
He succinctly summed up exactly how the administration misled the nation to go to war in Iraq and why it's important for them to pay for this disaster. This information should be on the header of every Democrat news release from now until November '06.

Bush never lied in the classic sense; he didn't have to. From November, 2001 thru the invasion, anyone wanting to get on the fast track with this administration needed only submit intelligence that supported the Bush position. Submit any contrary evidence and you got a one-way ticket to Palookaville. Go public with any contrary information? Then you were hated America and were working for the terrorists. How many times did Neville Chamberlain's name come up in 2002 and 2003?

It's ironic that here it is, late 2005, and still anyone who points out this deception is "aiding the enemy."

This convenient deception was used to gain seats in the 2002 mid-term campaign so they found a way to steal yet another election.

1. I heard him, too
Here's a page where you can listen again and also order a transcript.

This is really worth listening to. He gets very exasperated as the reporter tries to pin him down on what the Army generals are saying. He points out that he's not going to be too specific because it's on record who he met with. He states the generals would not say anything now because of what happened with Shinseki--thus their speaking through him.

2. heard that too- it should
be available online.- One thing that really jumped out at me while listening, was the FACT - that we 'went there' not to 'establish democracy' but to dis-arm (we all know there WERE none but) to dis arm Hussein of his 'WMD's'- that is done- the military's job is done- we should no longer be there- period-

THAT, should be the 'talking point'- put this administration back on point, prove the point was bogus, and hence- the mission as we told our military it would be, is done.- Civil war was a predictable (even to a moron) result- but not what 'we' went there for-

He speaks the truth, as one who knows how this dark, and devious administration operates- and his remarks about the consequences, as well as his refusal to even say 'outright' that the military advisers fear speaking the TRUTH- because of the consequences, is a very damning, but accurate statement on how BAD this govt. is.

3. That was a great one
Heard it yesterday. One thing he said really resonated. "stay the course" is not a strategy.
