Why are they even in Fallujah? Isn't it about time to re-deploy them and save their lives? What is the strategy when they are being blown up? It doesn't make sense.

1. bush knew!
Bush knew that 11 soldiers were killed in Iraq before he went into the rose garden to give some good news on the economy Friday morning. As you will recall he did not mention it. 26 minutes later after his speech the news broke to the press. McCellan said bush knew before he gave the speech....

3.  You are right about that
They died on Thursday.

The economy bushit was designed to compete with the story of the ten dead kids, once it finally broke.

He's full of shit--let me tell you, because I KNOW (and you will just have to trust me, I really DO KNOW)--when they die, command and control knows within minutes or hours, NOT DAYS.

There is a whole protocol that must be followed with personnel casualties--and the timeline demands SWIFT reports.

A message goes out within MOMENTS of the incident--it has a "FLASH
designation (ZZZZZZZZZZZ!) and it beats every other message out of the gate. Trust me, within four hours max of the death of these kids, it was all the way up the chain. That includes the five sided funny farm and the WH.

To try to play it any other way is total horseshit.

I'd love it, frankly, if any other ex-mil com specs/radiomen would weigh in and back me up...because I KNOW what I say is so.

Damn disgraceful, what he did--prancing around about the economy, when he KNEW ten kids were dead. Fuck him, the chickenhawk!

4. Bush didn't want to rain on his cheery economic news.
There it is. The president. The Commander-in-Chief.

5. they may have been
getting out of their transports. there was 2 or 3 high explosive muntions strapped together and that would cause one big fucking explosion. i heard about this morning and almost started to cry. i`m to fucking old to watch any more kids die for this insanity. i have lost any respect for any democrat that isn`t for getting out now. i don`t give a shit who it is and in my opinion have now have blood on their hands.

6. It's worse than you think...
I saw on the news.. they had a video-game looking graphic... about the explosion.

Apparently two Marines had been sniped in Fallujah, and the platoon was on an anti-sniper patrol. They were set up... when they entered a factory courtyard, something or someone triggered a HUGE boobytrap.

The Iraqis are learning fast.... this shows good planning... well... bad planning if you're in the US military.

7. This is how insurgents do it.
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 01:37 AM by Neil Lisst
If you've never read the lyrics to GOODNIGHT SAIGON, by Billy Joel, they're worth a read.

The insurgent has time on his side. He gets the occupation troops under constant surveillance, and he figures out their patterns, their response times, their methods of responding to situations. Then he sets traps and takes out 3-10 guys at a time.

They seem to be getting better at doing this, and that is to be expected. Our boys and girls are sitting ducks. They are not set up to hold ground indefinitely. They're an army, not mall cops, not security guards. They're vulnerable because we have them escorting convoys, congressmen, and anything else that has to get through.

they heard the hum of our motors
they counted the rotors
and waited for us to arrive

11. Because it's the same route they travel every day
how do you think the insurgents knew where to plant the IED.
