Will These Damned Evangelicals Ever...
...Quit the moronic, 'We are so persecuted!' whine-a-thon they have been pulling for the past several years?

This in a country where 76% of the populace are of the Christian faith, as are the overwhelming majority of our elected officials, as well as all of our presidents, past and present.

You poor little martyrs!

Surely a number of Christians of a more reasonable, moderate bent (which does describe the majority) must be getting thoroughly sick of idiotic boobs like Falwell and Robertson presumptuously thinking they speak for them.

These people won't be happy until we feed a few to the lions.

Robert

2. you know it keeps the Moolah rolling into the American Mullahs, thats
what it's all about all about imho. It's really a "War on their checkbooks" but the followers haven't figured that out yet.

3. Since You Mentioned...
...Mullahs, I think to say that Evangelicals claiming persecution in America is like Shiite Muslims claiming persecution in Iran is not an unfair analogy.

6. That's all it's about
Just like with the republicans on issues like gay marriage and Roe V Wade. They'll never do anything either way because they can keep blaming the democrats and us liberals on everything to get elected. They could do something about it now but they don't.

4. I bet church attendance is down.

It is the Christian religion taking the hit. Sure we have a facsist government that has to feed its enablers, but policy by mythology is not going to be the American way when a legitimate government is restored.

7. I have heard it was
My church has gotten a few new families though but I think they have moved into the area. On our Sunday morning services we usually have about 500. My church isn't a megachurch though and there are all types of churches on the same street and general area.

5. Stephen Colbert did a great skit on that
Pointing out how 80% of the country is Christian (or at least believes in the Christian faith). So how can 80% of the population with the support of the pResident, congress and scotus be surpressed? These people really get on my nerves. What if they were really in trouble? It's like the boy who cried wolf....

11. The notion of feeding Jim Dobson, Pat Robertson,
Jerry Falwell, Donald Wildmon, Ralph Reed, and several other high-profile fundies to ravenous lions is, well, incredibly appealing.

I'm in.

Now that I think about it, this could well be an act of cruelty to animals. ;-)

The PETA folks will be after me for this one, and I don't blame them.

15. That's the right wing strategy
People in power claiming to be persecuted if they don't get absolute power over everybody else. It's the ultimate form of projection.
