Jin-go-ist, jin-go-ist, jin-go all the way....
I started quaking in my boots when I saw Bush`s red, press conference power tie today. Man! This guy just about scares me into submission!
Imagine....no laws, no rules, no boundaries, no oversight....no nothing.
That`s one mighty ruler. I mean, he can just pick up a phone and presto!
No more library books on Mao. No more calls to a distant cousin in Turkey. No more anti-war bumperstickers. No wonder Chris Matthews says maybe Bush should be on Mount Rushmore. That would be one scary stone head reminder of what`s coming after you if you screw up and over-exercise your rights.

Corporate media figured it out. That`s why you hear all that nervous laughter where their hard questions used to be. One too many follow-up questions, and WHAM! They`ve lost their access. No more cocktail party invites to an important incrowd event. They`d have to sit in the back of the room with Helen Thomas and be treated like a terrorist-loving leper. And, no air time. Who`d want that? Better to take the Wolf Blitzer cheerleader approach like your popularity depends on it.

I guess we`re seeing some kind of New America here. September 11th changed everything. That`s why you have to give up your freedoms and your rights. Your kids might even have to be killed in order to help President Bush spread his message of peace.

Remember all those stories you used to hear about the immigrant cobblers
and masons? Railway workers and the tailors? That was then. Now America has fine-tuned things so we`re The Land of the Big Boys. You know.... Exxon, Wal-Mart, Citicorp. We have big guns, big secret plans, big government. That`s why our president wears a red power tie to a press conference. He`s running with the big dogs. So, if your uncle happens to get caught up in one of Bush`s American Cell Sweeps...don`t worry. It`s just our leader spreading freedom and if you start complaining about it, you`re just aiding the enemy.

1. preach it brother democrank
"i'm right because i said i'm right because i'm right" - chimpy

there is no persuasive rhetoric from him, no logic (nor can there be, for he is incapable of it, hence the genius of those who catapulted him to the 2000 nomination), only tautaulogies that avoid any hint of "why".
