Democrats should simply repeat over and over...
IMPEACHMENT FOR ABUSE OF POWER.
IMPEACHMENT FOR ABUSE OF POWER.

"But I had a trifecta--you know, heh, heh, 9-11!"

IMPEACHMENT FOR ABUSE OF POWER.

"But we removed a bad dictator. Heh, heh, Saddam Hussein. America is safer"

IMPEACHMENT FOR ABUSE OF POWER.

"But I have a duty to protect you and I used everything in my power heh, heh."

IMPEACHMENT FOR ABUSE OF POWER.

1. well..
I'm all for it, but Carter used the same order as defined here..

http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/eo12139.htm

1-101. Pursuant to Section 102(a)(1) of the Foreign Intelligence
Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1802(a)), the Attorney General
is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign
intelligence information without a court order, but only if the
Attorney General makes the certifications required by that Section.

2. what certifications? and did he make them?
we will not know for sure unless we know who was spied on and why?

The liar's claim today was that it was just people known to have connections with al-qaeda.

I don't believe that. I think he spied on any and everybody who was politically dangerous to him.

J edgar Hoover all over again.

5. They broke the law ...
... and as Russ Feingold pointed out yesterday on Blitzer's show, (paraphrasing from memory): "They (this Admin) keep saying they acted pursuant to a statute of law -- however, in the past forty-eight hours of this firestorm, they have yet to come up with what statute that actually is."

You KNOW they've been combing the law, and every loophole therein, since they were informed that the NYT was going to print the story. If they haven't come up with it by now, THERE IS NO SUCH LAW.

As we've seen, the NYT were called to a special meeting at the Oval Office on December 6th, and asked not to go with the story. They declined. So the WH -- along with its many, many resources -- has had more than enough time to come up with the legal precedent they based their actions on. They STILL haven't come up with a DAMNED THING.

What does that tell you? If they COULD have come up with something even remotely viable, Bush would have been 'armed' with the statute, chapter and verse, in time for his speeches this weekend.

They've got NOTHING -- and we all know it.
