We need to start the drumbeat now: Bush "lost" Iraq to the Ayatollahs!
After January 2006 Iraq will be firmly under the control of Shiite religious parties under the control of the Iranian ayatollahs. By this time next year it is likely that Kurdistan will have split off after annexing oil rich Kirkuk. That may trigger an invasion of northern Iraq by Turkey. The Sunnis will be in open revolt against the dominant Shiites. Way to go smirky boy.

3. Hey, he wanted ELECTIONS
He got ELECTIONS.

Fuckface and his thugs don't do very well without Diebold and elections they can't rig.

So, now they get a lesson in what democracy really means - from Iraq.

The irony of this would be so delicious if it weren't so hideously tragic.

4. But wait! Junior has an out! Remember the story planted in the NYT?
An anonymous source said three truckloads of fake ballots had been brought into Iraq from iran before the election. One truckload was caught, but rumor was that two other truckloads made it past the guards.

Of course, we've never SEEN an example of a fake ballot. And of course we can't investigate an ANONYMOUS source. But I think they have a plan in their back pockets to call the election illegitimate.

5. More accurately: Bush Gave Iraq to the Mullahs.
The southern part of Iraq is now effectively the western-most province of Iran. That was the foreseeable outcome of overthrowing the minority Sunni regime.

There's some oil in the south, but most of it is in the Kurdish north. The thinking is that the Kurds will be easy to deal with on the most advantageous terms to the multinational oil companies, as they are dependent on the US and EU for protection from Turkey and the other two Iraqi factions.

7. This story is also being carried on....
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/article334476.ece

with an even more dire prediction.

"Iraq is disintegrating. The first results from the parliamentary election last week show the country is dividing between Shia, Sunni and Kurdish regions.

Religious fundamentalists now have the upper hand. The secular and nationalist candidate backed by the US and Britain was humiliatingly defeated.

snip

The election marks the final shipwreck of American and British hopes of establishing a pro-Western secular democracy in a united Iraq."

Of course we'll have to wait for final results to be official but......IT DON"T LOOK GOOD!
