Kerry & Kennedy on Ed Schultz - Audios
John Kerry on the Ed Schultz Show Today
John Kerry was on the Ed Schultz Show today and so was Senator Ted Kennedy. I’ll post the links when they are available!

From WeGotEd.com:

Sen. John Kerry, D-MA, joins the show today to talk about the vote on ANWR, the pending Senate Defense Bill and Bush wiretapping issue.

Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-MA, is our guest to discuss today’s Senate action on the Defense bill and the Patriot Act.

4. K&R. I heard this, and it's the first time I've ever heard Kerry publicly
mention the hackability of the voting machines.

5. A Fla official refused to certify the machines based on tests showing this
Kerry needed that kind of backing to state it as a fact - he's said that we need to insure that there is no chance of hacking before. (as has Teresa)

11. Not only that, he actually brought UP the topic! Ed didn't bring it up!
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 10:18 PM by Amaryllis
He said, "You can't leave the voting integrity opf America and the rights of Citizens to know what happened to their votes in proprietary hands! It's simply absurd to believe that that could be the case!!!"
Ed didn't pick up on it AT ALL. Didn't even comment on it.

12. It was a tenuous segueway
It was like he WANTED to bring it up somehow, so he did a side shuffle into the issue.

13. Yes, my thoughts exactly. He CLEARLY wanted to bring it up and Ed
clearly wasn't interested.

6. Kerry mentioned problems with diebold and election issues in general
that was the very first time i ever heard him speak on this fraud issues, but naturally the interview ended without Schultz or Kerry getting into the obvious.

7. It's not so tiny
We know about the problems with the machines in here on DU (And across the Liberal web.) But that is a tiny percentage of the American population. The case has not been made to the public at large that fraud exists. There hasn't been a break out way to garner attention for that in a wider audience.

It is possible that the discussion about the Bush Admin's blatantly illegal wiretapping of American citizens might just open the door to a wider discussion of what else the Admin has been doing that is illegal. This is a critical opening that wasn't there before.

I don't know how big Ed Schultz's audience is, but this is a chance to start to bring this up to a wider American audience. The Bushies have opened this door with their arrogance and disregard for the rule of law. I dearly hope that Dems will talk about the vulnerability of the American voting system to fraud. We have a chance to bring this to a bigger audience. (That said, yeah, I think it will go slowly. This takes a lot of careful explaining and that takes time to make the case and do it right. There is, of course, plenty of room for a lot of Dem voices on this.)

and mentioned Diebold by name.
