Query: Cheney's draft board classification? |
|
I'm not quite old enough to remember the details of the scheme by which the Draft Board sorted people (OK, men) into categories reflecting their suitability for military service and/or their eligibility for deferment. There was some kind of short code -- a number and a letter, like a shoe size, IIRC -- can anyone pont me to that, or to what Cheney's classification was?
I wanted to start calling him DDDDDick -- with five D's for five deferments -- or "five-D" Dick, but it occured to me that 5D could be a draft category.
(If you've seen Annie Hall, you might remember a Woody Allen joke:"I'm 4H. In the event of hostilities, I'm a hostage." BOMR)

1. He got college deferments and then some sort of deferment for having kids. |
|
That's the reason he married Lynn and got her pregnant ASAP. He wanted to do whatever he could to stay out of the service. Cowardly bastard. :grr:
