Republicans will ask Delay to step down soon? |
|
It's obvious that Mr Delay has become a burden upon the Party. It is doubtful that he will be around very much longer. That may be the first item on the agenda when they return to Washington, if they return? Most Republicans were willing to lend silent support to Mr Delay in regards to his trial down in Texas but the Abramoff pleas have changed the equation. They know that Mr Delay has close ties to Mr Abramoff and this is a bucket they are not willing to carry. Look for this breaking story soon...

3. OT - but I noticed his .gov website changed |
|
The current page http://www.majorityleader.gov/about.asp says nothing about Tom Delay The Way Back page: http://web.archive.org/web/20050310004128/http://www.majorityleader.gov/about.asp is a taxpayer funded glorification of Corrupt Tom Delay.

7. I thought this was real subtle.... |
|
Despite the limitations imposed by small majorities from 1999-2002, DeLay worked the House floor with consummate skill and often found a way to win votes others thought lost. DeLay called his method "growing the vote," and he used a sophisticated outreach effort to establish trust and build solid relationships with Republican members. In this way, their concerns could be resolved before a bill reached the House floor for a vote.
Gee, why call him "The Hammer" if is was such a nice guy.....:spray:

So far, so good. Some scandalous event happens, they more or less IGNORE it, we get all bunchy on the internets, and it BLOWS OVER. Every single time. Democracy dies not with a bang but a whimper.
chip...chip...chip...they are chopping our fucking cherry tree down, and lying all the while.

the majority of them. They are thinking self-survival. Anything to make it look like they are "cleaning house" and are moral enough to stand for re-election. That is what most of them are thinking about.

6. I think you may be underestimating the rigid loyalty |

this bunch have for each other. They'll cling to the cockroach until he's convicted and packed off to jail, and a few of them will continue to cling even after that.
Yeah, he's enveloping his party with the sickly sweet stench of corruption, but all of those old boys have been so corrupt for so many years that they don't notice any more. They honestly do feel that the law applies only to the peasants.
