Question for politicians: Would you rather be voted out, or indicted out? |
|
There has been the usual bullshit about "partisan witch hunts" bandied about in D.C., ever since the indictments of repukes started coming thick and fast.
Is it possible that it is not a coincidence that such indictments have started shortly after the latest high-profile STEALING of an election?
Repukes in power have shut off the right to vote from thousands of Americans. They have done this in various ways: phone-jamming, requests for "I.D." which resemble Nazi Germany tactics, and computer-fixing of voting machines.
Had they let the voters actually vote in fair elections, would it have been necessary to begin so many criminal investigations? Had they allowed the press to do its job, instead of buying/threatening the press into becoming a propaganda tool, would it have been necessary for Americans to call for so many criminal sanctions? Or would the people, informed by a free press, have simply voted out the politicians who were revealed as the worst wrongdoers?
This should be a lesson to repuke politicians: if you make it impossible for us to vote you out, that doesn't mean we can't find other ways to get rid of you.
Sincerely,
We The People

1. Voted out is a slap on the wrist, whereas an indictment should/could |
|
destroy their political career for good!

2. I agree. But the first step is to get rid of the corrupt pols, and then |
|
they can be indicted if the evidence against them is there.
Sometimes corruption allegations are strong enough to only sway the voters, but not to sway a grand jury.
I think, therefore, that an actual system in which the people can have their votes counted (whoa! what a concept!) has something in it for the politicians, as well as something in it to benefit us voters.
While I would prefer to just see them all in jail--at Guantanamo--I am willing to just vote them out, if only they'll give us our vote back, and stop stealing elections.
Look at Joe Scarborough. When he saw that the shit was gonna come down (his wife possibly telling all sorts of stuff in their divorce, plus that dead woman in Joe's office, which was never explained), he left office. Other repukes would do well to follow Scarborough's example, and LEAVE before it gets worse for them.
(Although I admit that I'd almost rather have Scarborough back in office than have to be bothered by his inane show blasting out of MSNBC.)
