What I have been looking at are ppl that gave to * in 2000 but not in 2004. Powell/ President Ford.... This is very interesting, why in 2000 but not in 2004....

2. Sitting cabinet secretaries usually don't make donations
They are allowed to do so, but typically they don't make many donations to political candidates while in office.

4. While that may be true
He knew he was leaving and that does not answer Pres. Ford and Newt... I only check Pols. I wonder how many others are in the 2000 only bracket.

5. This is interesting info... I'd be curious as well who else. Since these
are fairly died in the wool Repubs although I always thought of Powell and Ford as old style Conservatives that fell in with a bad crowd not true neo-cons. As for Newt... maybe he really has seen the light.. but I still do NOT like or trust him. :grr:

Since it's not like these men can't afford to donate a bit to "their" presiDunce it does seem as there was dissenion in the rank and file even back then... I wonder how they REALLY feel now and if they'd back it up with THEIR money?
