Gore doesn't support Alito. What does that remind me of? |

Stop blaming Ralph Nader -- and I volunteered for and voted for Gore in 2000.
Get this through your skull: Al Gore WON.
George W. Bush STOLE THE ELECTION!
Nothing makes the corporate news media and the radical Republicans happier than progressives continuing to be distracted from the central fact that, despite the Nader votes -- GORE WON -- BUSH STOLE THE ELECTION.

2. Actually both. However if only one had failed, Gore would have won. |

Nader worked tirelessly in Florida to be a spoiler. If half a percent of the people who voted for Nader had voted for Gore (and voting models say that many more would have), Gore would have overcome the Bush fix in the courts.
Since then, the toe that the GOP has in the electoral wheels has become a bearhug.
I say again: Thanks, Ralph.

In NH, Nader took far more votes than Bush's margin of victory over Gore.

Bush's victory: 527 votes
Nader's vote: ~100,000 votes
Just 1% of Nader voters needed to vote for Gore.
