Primary vs. GE turnout: Correlation? |
|
Is there one historically? Should we take heart at the passionate high turnout so far?

Passion is naturally rather directed. That direction will fragment when it comes down to one guy. That can be tempered some by a gifted pol who can manage to draw rivals in.
But don't count on it being heavy turnout naturally. That always takes real grassroots (not trucked in "grassroots") around election time.

9. only if the local party organizations fail to do their jobs |

what I'm saying is that primary turnout does not forbode GE turnout unless everyone is showing up to vote for one guy. and they didn't.

The good news is that there's still 10 months to go, pleanty of time for this unelected fraud to piss off the remaining believers.
People are motivated to remove this incompetent misleader and do a 180 back to where we were in 2000.
For that, I thank Bush. It took a criminal war profiteer to energize the Democratic base....I can't wait for the GE to get underway.

The turnout in the primaries do show that dems and those are ready to have change in the White House. Exit polls showed, especially in Iowa, that more young people were showing up and turnout was double that of four years ago. Also if Nader chooses not to run that is more votes for the dems. Does anyone know if Nader is running?

6. Nader supposedly said he would consider running if Dean were not |

nominated but he was probably blowing smoke. You can't dance that dance a second time, after losing so big the first time.
Perot got 19% of the popular vote against Papa Bush and was a joke the second time around.
If Nader runs he'll be marginalised and ignored (except by the media).
