4. They can't filibuster - They're in the House
Only the Senate can filibuster Alito.

3. It the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
They are trying to elect more Dems to congress. They are legit. I believe Congressman Rahm Emmanuel (D-IL?) is the current head of the DCCC.

5. well,,,,,,,,
there are several districts where progressive dems are being shoved aside by uncle rahm. christine cegalis in the ill. 6th is one. there are a lot of threads about the situation in the ill. forum. i think your money goes farther if you give it to individual candidates. i think they get plenty of money from the fat cats, already.
but that's just me.

8. I agree.
Give it to your local candidates and perhaps anyone you really like elsewhere. I give a little to Cegalis, Bernie Sanders, all my Homies & anyone else who has distinguished themselves in my eyes.

Rahm & the DCCC really, really pissed me off in IL-6 with their little stunt, may it come to bite him & them in their collective rear ends, it was their way of flipping the bird to the grassroots.

7. I like them, but you might as well back individual candidates.
Some feel the DCCC undercuts some progressive candidates, and they probably do.

DCCC and DSCC should be stopping points for people who have a lot more than $10 or $100 to give.

9. I give to the DCCC
And the DNC and the DSCC.

They are divisions of the Democratic Party.

Here is a link on how the Democratic Party is organized:

http://www.democrats.org/a/party/ourorganization.html

While there are DINOs throughout the Democratic Party, and so there are DINOs in the DCCC, there is also everybody else! That's why we like to call the Democratic Party the "Big Tent" party. Isn't that funny? We'll soon be calling it the "Small Tent" party as more and more Democrats stop supporting the Democratic Party. It's so funny, I think I'll cry.

13. Well, if you give to *individual* progressive candidates, as suggested by
several people above, then you avoid the problem of having your money go to DINOs (which is what happens if you give to the DNC, DSCC, or DCCC).

10. I won't be giving them money this year.
Like others said upthread, they are undermining progressive candidates in some districts. One happens to be mine. No more Christmas cards from me for awhile.

I think your best bet is to either give to individual candidates directly, or give via a PAC that you trust. (I like Keeping America's Promise, myself)

11. They called us too.
They have thus far declined to financially support the Congressional candidate we are supporting in my district. She is the only Dem running so far. Something about having to have raised a certain amount, or something (e.g. $500,000). Hubby told them that we would not be donating to them until they showed significant support. We would be donating to the candidate.

14. Send your money directly to the candidates you support
I am not saying that DCCC is bad or good, I am only saying that by donating to those candidates that you support, you are doing yourself a lot of good.

It's the Beltway Democrats that I have serious heartburn with.
