We'll be able to say GOOD RIDDANCE to Bush once and for all. No more phony elections where he's anointed to the throne, not one chance in trillion he can ever be President EVER AGAIN. I do have to thank Repukes for changing the Constitution to only two terms per President. http://www.cafepress.com/january2009

If we can ever have another fair election in this country it in all probability be a Democrat. IF we can have a fair election.

6. Nope, not McCain. Not Rice, either. |
|
McCain will not get the nomination. The people in power in the Repug party are far from moderate. They do not like McCain. There's no way a moderate, perceived or otherwise, is going to gain the nomination. Any person who doesn't understand this is deluding themself.
The only question is, can the Dems prevent the Repugs from putting their next lunatic candidate in the White House? Before November 2008, if we don't do something about election reform, if we do not do something about campaign reform, if we don't do something about media reform, we're going to again get precisely what we've got now. If these things do not happen, and if we are unable to hold ChimpCo accountable for his crimes, the Repugs may be emboldened to go even further right. I shudder to think who it might be. Somebody like Brownback? Or, worse (if that's possible).
I am worried whether it is within the power of the Dems to take the actions necessary to rid this country of this disease of the body politic. If we do not excise the tumor, it will grow. I am gravely concerned that we will not be able to do that.
But McCain will not be gaining political power any time soon. Not unless there is sweeping changes to the Repug political structure. At this point, that just isn't going to happen. Republican moderates do not have the power to take back their party from the rapture rightists. That means no McCain.

I mean, if he's up for shredding the Constitution, then what's a little calling off of elections between friends . . .
