I'm a Democratic Committeeman down here in Cumberland County, and I'm calling on you to please preserve what few civil liberties we still have under the Bush Regime.

By refusing to filibuster Samuel Alito, who opposes Roe v. Wade and believes the President should have unchecked power to do as he pleases, you will be openly handing more power and authority to the Republicans.

This is what we were "keeping our powder dry" for with John Roberts and Priscilla Owens. We have to draw a line in the sand immediately.

Announce and join a filibuster of Samuel Alito today. If you do not, then at least have the decency to cross the aisle and join the Republicans, because for all intents and purposes that is what you will be doing, and the people in our Party will deserve someone better to carry their banner.

We have to launch a "take back the party" effort in this state; get the Norcrosses out and put the grassroots back in control.

I think next spring I'm going to lay my hands on a massive number of committee nominating petitions, or make a PDF of the form available for DU'ers who want to take the NJ Democratic Party back.
