1. Well, it's the first thing I thought of when I heard the news.
It's very cunning of Bush and Rove, isn't it?

Next it will be Fitzgerald.

That makes me sick. And right in the middle of having to think of Alito, too. I feel so engulfed in sleaziness.

6. Now that's disgusting.
The chief of the Justice Department's public integrity division didn't decline the nomination due to conflict of interest or the appearance of impropriety?

14. It's exactly how I feel, my friend.
It's like a rollercoaster ride from hell and I feel helpless. But we are fighting back and we are going to win this fight.

11. There was this fellow named Archibald Cox...
The special prosecutor investigating Nixon. Nixon fired him.

That was the beginning of the end for Nixon.

Now, it's true that Nixon didn't promote Cox. The taint followed.

I need more taint.

15. Where is the outcry?
Media silence roars again. God forbid a prosecutor would have the integrity to refuse such a transparent opportunity. Me, me, me.

17. Civil Suits...Klayman The Truth Out Of The Bastards
Why there isn't a Democrat doing this is beyond me. The antics of this regime has opened the door to various civil suits that would enable us to subpoena key people and compell them to testify or face perjury, contempt and jail time. When the Repugnicans couldn't get Clinton, this is how they went about it...the entire Paula Jones fiasco was all about a civil suit.

Surely Abramoff's actions have injured people...his money laundering hurt various charities or had people donate money to charities that didn't recieve the funds or that didn't exist. This is such fodder to poke a major hole into the Repugnican money operation and propaganda machine as a civil suit would lead to discoveries and sworn testimony that could really blow the lid off this entire operation and compell the Justice Department to do something.

Yes, boooosh can, and probably will find ways to stonewall this investigation and limit the damage, but there's plenty of dirt out there already and several investigations underway...those can be the springboard to civil action.
