Is Bush in a public opnion free-fall? |
|
Kerry is polling slightly ahead in national polls and in red states like SC, Bush is not as popular as we thought. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/01/30/opinion/polls/main597064.shtmlhttp://pollingreport.com/wh04gen.htm

6. He hasn't started campaigning yet? |
|
I beg to differ..He's been campaigning non-stop since January 2000. I laughed out loud at the same time I almost threw-up (that's dangerous...not recommended) when I heard him say, "I haven't started campaigning yet." That man has NEVER stopped campaigning! I dread what he'll say with his 200 Million. Lies and more lies infinitum.

"He hasn't started campaigning yet" he meant
"We haven't really cranked up on feeding the media the smears and lies about the Democratic nominee."
No matter who the eventual nominee is, believe me, he will be lied about and smeared by the GOP and the media will join right in. They will never question it, they'll just go with it. Just like with Al Gore. Just like with War on Iraq.
Get ready for it.

13. Some of you folks are starting to sound like the Dean people did |
|
a few months ago. Dean's collapse helps by moving stronger candidates to the front of the pack, but Bush is still the favorite to win in November. These polls simply reflect all the attention the Dem candidates have been getting. Unless the economy slows down, Bush is almost certainly going to win. That's the cold reality. Telling yourselves it's going to be a 'cakewalk,' as one person did yesterday, is folly. People need to get mentally geared up for a bruising, underdog campaign that will take a lot of resources and a little luck to win.

14. Bush is in serious trouble |
|
Bush has very weak support among the Conservative community. They are genuinely pissed. I don't see a high turn-out for Bush and a great opportunity to make inroads in all branches of govt.
A lot can happen between now and November, but Bush is very beatable and absent some stunning event, we'll take back the White House.

17. a commentator on NPR said the conservatives are VERY ticked about |
|
the cost estimate mistakes on Medicare bill, but won't join the Democrats in developing another bill because the costs would almost certainly be higher. I would love to see one of our candidates take this and make a campaign issue--that fiscal conservatives would be SMART to join forces--because a Democratic response would NOT provide the windfall to the HMOs & drug companies. Instead, their solution would cost less AND provide more benefits, because it would allow
--US govt to negotiate with drug companies for lower prices, like the German, Canadian, and French govts. do --Importation of druges from other companies (until the price differential disappears) --possibly, incentives to reduce advertising costs
etc.

US govt to negotiate with drug companies for lower prices, like the German, Canadian, and French govts. More like try. The drug companies circumvent any regulation made by he public healthcare system; contrary to what you may believe, drugs prices in Germany are the highest worldwide . The myth of the German cheap drugs was made up by a RW politician with a specially selected list of ten prescription drugs.
