Video of Kaine's address..link. He did a nice job. |
|
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8004316/Find the link that says Democratic Response. It would appeal to many people who are tired of anger and tired of division. I am not that fond of some of his views on religion, but the speech was nice.

a homophobe here earlier today, and to see that view backed up. Guess I come at things from a very different angle than some.

3. I would not call him that exactly, but he needs to not mix religion... |
|
and politics. I thought the speech was nice and not divisive. I did not feel as angry as if he had been. He presented nice ideas. I see no reason to call him names here.
He is very religious, and I do disaprove of injecting that into office.

2. "... the speech was nice." |

Well, that pretty well sums it up. Nice.
In response to the SOTU, you bring out the best speech-maker you have on the team, not the 'nicest'.
If this had been a REAL reubuttal to the SOTU, we'd all be posting things like, "Great, amazing, inspiring, awesome, on-the-money," etc.
When someone is speaking on behalf of my party and my fellow Democrats in response to a pack of lies and tired old rhetoric, I don't want the word 'nice' to enter into the discussion.

Yep, nice isn't what the SOTU deserved. The dems had a chance to kick the rabid dog when it was down and they kissed it instead.

This "together we do better"' theme stinks. If we ever learned that "together we can do nothing ' it was this wek. There is no such thing as bipartisanship and it has been proven over and over. How many Repugs voted to preserve the ConstituTion? Only Chaffee voted aginst Alito. And Kaine smiling and minimizing problems to the theme of going along to get along was disgusting. His delivery was like a spinless grinning automaton.I was ashamed. They should have had Ted Kennedy or John Kerry do the reponse. I sweear we are trying to lose. What is so bad about offering the voters a choice? Kaine's DLC credentials are impeccable.
