Current Nat'l Guard: Ask For Leave For Political Campaigns!
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 12:53 AM by K8-EEE
Why not? Since Prez AWOL got his bronze bust and all that for his "service," what if we had scads of NG requesting leave to work on the 2006 political campaigns -- to defeat the GOP! After all...they're only following the President's exemplary service in wartime in doing so!

1. Can this be real? 8 votes and no responses? I'll respond and kick it.
Sounds like a great idea to me.

2. Vote 10
What can you say, it'd be hysterical to watch. I'd especially like to see them explain all those rejections in Texas. A bunch of guard should organize it for one day, tons of them show up at their state headquarters.

6. K&R
Did * work on a campaign while in the guard? I thought he was just partying and lollygagging... hard to imagine him actually working on anything. Good idea, though aren't military personnel not supposed to "political" while on active duty? I don't know much about this but willing to learn...

7. He SUPPOSEDLY "Worked" On One
As much as he's ever worked on anything, I guess. They are not supposed to be "political" if they are anti-GWB. However, when GWB was in the NG it was perfectly acceptable for him to skip out IN WARTIME on the pretext of "working on a political campaign." But the NG today, who are having their lives fucked up by GWB, have a much better reason than helping daddy's friends. They know first hand how fucked up the whole thing is, we NEED them campaigning with us! And they have a perfect precedant for asking!
