If the draft were reinstated today, how long would it take to actually get |
|
people recruited, trained, and ready for more Bush wars?

The Bush cabal actually would recruit, train and equip these men and women. They haven't so far, so why should we figure there would be any difference now?
They would be given a gun, told what to do, and sent to a war zone.

5. Do you know if we even have the facilities - such as enough bases, |
|
clothing to be alloted, people to do the physicals, cook the food, etc - all the millions of thing that will required to restart the draft. And I firmly believe it will be reinstated. Bush wants to fight and it will take soldiers to do it. A war cannot be won with superior artillery.

6. bush** wants to fight??? That's funny. I think you mean AWOL wants |
|
others, mostly poor, middle class, and dems, to do the fighting for him.

4. I think the law says about 6 months |
|
6 months from the time that a draft is re-implemented, though this depends on what assignments we are talking about. A fully trained infantry soldier or Marine would need at least a year, which is why I tend to think a draft would mostly be for non-combat posiitions.

8. Six months to produce a minimum combat soldier. |

And that is for a guy that is barely capable. One year to train him with a unit and get the unit to working cohesively. Longer is he is going to be an elite troop.
That is measuring from the time a new soldier is inducted. It does not count time to crank the system up to make more combat soldiers.
I spent nine years of active duty, with one of those in Vietnam, and I have tried to stay informed about today's military, therefore my opinion is an informed one.
