Ed Schultz talking about midwestheroes spots now
http://www.midwestheroes.com/

Saw the spot on CNN today. They attack the press, but it's a complete suckup spot for BushCo ala the Swiftboaters.

3. I'm listening now, this guy is a freeper
He starts off by referring to Ed's program as being "behind enemy lines."

This guy's never heard of embedded media, I guess.

4. Ed's banging the guy that the spot is not correct.
Guy claims he has no data to back up spot. But it's 'common knowledge' that the press only reports bad news from Iraq.

6. Ed made a great point
that more media people have died in Iraq than did in Vietnam, etc. Course, that made no dent on Colonel Freep's brain.

7. I'm no fan of Swift-Boating, BUT...
When you hear guys like this, you've gotta wonder about the credentials; interesting he mentioned at the very end of the segment that he's in the reserve and that he DOESN'T PLAN ON going back over.

9. The ad is worded for deniability.
There are no doubt some al Queda in Iraq now, having joined after the fact. The ad just says these are al Queda, not the same al Queda. It ignores they are there now, because we are.

11. Did these guys get any of the $1.6 billion bush used for propaganda?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2105571

From Raw Story -

Bush Admin. spent over $1.6 Billion on advertising and P.R. since 2003, GAO finds

Today Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Rep. George Miller, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, and other senior Democrats released a new Government Accountability Office report finding that the Bush Administration spent more than $1.6 billion in public relations and media contracts in a two and a half year span.

"The government is spending over a billion dollars per year on PR and advertising," said Rep. Waxman. "Careful oversight of this spending is essential given the track record of the Bush Administration, which has used taxpayer dollars to fund covert propaganda within the United States."

PLUS The new ad is funded by Progress for America Voters Fund:

About PFA Voter Fund

Some politicians are working overtime to push their failed policies on America and distort the accomplished public policy records of conservative leaders across this nation. These policies thwart the ability of American families to support the War on Terror, keep more of what they earn, provide a safe environment for educating their children, and continue to expand employment and grow the economy.

Progress for America Voter Fund ("PFA-VF") is a conservative issue advocacy organization dedicated to setting the issue record straight about these critical issues.

Here are the goals of the PFA-VF:

1. Level the playing field on issue advertisements — it may not be possible out raise even George Soros alone, but the PFA Voter Fund must try to reduce the lopsided advertising advantage that liberal 527s have on the campaign trail today.

2. Reinforce the messages of conservatives across the nation -- we have messages we know will work and energize the base; we just need the resources to deliver these messages.
As a diverse coalition of concerned citizens, nonprofit organizations, and other players in the political process, PFA-VF is dedicated to educating the American people regarding the public policy positions of candidates for federal, state and local office and mobilizing conservative voters. These activities provide the American people with the information they need to see through the misleading public policies and campaign themes of liberal politicians.
