Cheney Reveals on Fox! I've only been "Seasoned Hunter" last 12-15 Years!
What's interesting is that most of us assumed he'd been hunting since he was a kid in Wyoming...when like most Western Kids they get the rifle when the "tooth fairy" puts the coins under the pillow.

 What's UP with THAT REVELATION? Did he only want to KILL when he worked for Halliburton and then joined Bush Administration where KILL! was what one did?

4. Cheney mocked the idea of Kerry hunting when Kerry hunted for 50yrs
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 06:22 PM by blm
since he was a kid. Kerry is an expert marksman who kills only what he eats and nothing more.

And the corporate media followed Cheney's lead and completely ignored Kerry's actual history in favor of WH spin.

7. Corporate media is still at it, as recently as Monday

<snip>

From the February 13 edition of CNN's The Situation Room:

MORTON: Do politicians love to hunt? Well, some. Theodore Roosevelt went after big game, went exploring -- a genuine enthusiast. Dick Cheney loves to hunt. There's been story after story about his hunting trips, though none, fair is fair, quite as dramatic as this last one. Harry Truman? He'd rather have played poker. Dwight Eisenhower organized a partridge hunt in North Africa during World War II and hunted as president. But when he had his druthers, you'd find him on a golf course. John Kennedy? A biographer recalls that Lyndon Johnson bullied him into shooting a deer once on the LBJ Ranch. But he didn't like it, and didn't fish much either. Though, of course, he loved to sail.

...

MORTON: This president likes to hunt quail with family and friends, especially on New Year's Day. John Kerry, the man he beat, spent time posing with guns. But voters probably saw more of him pursuing exotic sports, windsurfing and so on.

9. Can it even BE more obvious than that pack of lies?
"This president" only hunted for photo ops during election years. He was really a golf club bum who dons costumes to dupe the working class.

It's too funny KoKo! No actual "seasoned" quail hunter posted on your thread to say that even newby bird hunters know you NEVER shoot at low angles because you'll kill dogs and fellow hunters, not birds.

Not even Cheney is this bad at hunting quail. He was either drunk or he deliberately shot the rich republican. In any case, the good news is that Repuke season is now officially open and ammo is on sale! Check out

KERRY'S SPORTING GOODS

Donate first, then go out and bag a few repukes in your home town! They are stupid and make easy targets.

17. If charges are filed, an experienced hunter is held to a higher standard
than a novice.

So, if his victim dies, or presses charges, the level of his experience will determine the level of charges.

Good catch, BTW. He's CYA in every direction. MKJ

been doing this for YEARS...I guess he's setting up his case for "Abu Gonzales" to cover his butt...

CYA, as you said...in every direction...amazing...

19. I didn't know that, thanks for the info.
So galling that during campaigns he mocks a REAL HUNTER as it was just a photo-op in hopes that people would believe he was the real hunter of the two. And the media helped promote that lie.

20. It's just part of the public image they portray Cheney and Bush...
The media is complicit in making Bush and Cheney out to be self-made, outdoorsmen to sell them to rural Amerika. The never show them how they get their asses hauled around in golfcarts in between photo-ops.

The truth of the matter is off cameras, Bush and Cheney live a lavish lifestyles... formal dinner parties, yachting, golfing on exclusive golf clubs, etc.

Then he suddenly became a rancher and media helped him every step of the way.

21. Don't most "Seasoned" hunters....
a) know that they need the proper seasonal game tags.

b) can actually hunt wild game and not have to shoot birds specifically raised to be hunting targets.

c) know hunting rules of etiquette and would never leave another member of their hunting party back where he could potentially become a target.

Seasoned Hunter my ass... he may as well be shooting veal in their feeding pen.

set-up slaughters.

Typical elite Republican where EVERYTHING has to be a set-up for them.

24. So.....Cheney says he's only a Certifiable Hunter for the past few Years
and CNN says Wittington wasn't "certified" to hunt. Yet, another DU'er finds that since Wittington was born before 1971 he was "grandfathered" in and was OF COURSE allowed to hunt.

So which is it. Uncertifiable Cheney or Grandfathered Wittington.. Who would you TRUST with a GUN?
