I couldn't believe what I heard on rightwing radio today... |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 11:38 PM by TwoSparkles
Rush Limbaugh explained today that Bush "will end up backing off of his decision to give control of our ports to the UAE..." Limbaugh touted the economics of the deal, but said that politically, the administration has made a poor decision. Limbaugh seemed upset about the decision and he talked about the inevitability that BushCo would have to scrap this idea, "However, it just depends on how stubborn they're going to be on this one, folks."
Sean Hannity also said that turning the ports over to the UAE was a poor decision and one that would have to change. He criticized the decision.
The topper was Michael Savage. Oh my. He was screaming, at the top of his lungs about this decision. He couldn't stop talking about what a horrid idea this was. He was out of his mind, critizing Bush's willingness to turn our ports over to the UAE. He called the Bush Administration "horrendously corrupt from top to bottom," and he said that this administration is "has more corruption than the Clinton administration ever had, and these guys are just getting started!"
If the right-wing radio lap dogs---who ordinarily march in lockstep with Junior--are speaking out against the port issue----this does not bode well for BushCo at all.
I've never seen right wing radio united against Bush like this--over an issue.
Now....let's enjoy the backpeddaling from BushCo. Popcorn and Junior Mints anyone?

10. Yes, but Limbaugh stood behind Bush during the Miers nomination... |
|
...and many callers were very upset with Rush. I remember one caller accused Rush of "carrying water for the Bush Administration no matter what." Rush defended his decision to support Bush on the Meiers nomination.
Rush wasn't on fire for Miers...he wasn't thrilled with Bush's decision. However, he never went after Bush for cronyism nor did he openly criticize Bush for the nomation. Rush openly empathized with his audience members' concerns. He validated them, but he propped up Bush during the Miers nomination.

6. * admin will back off and reverse the decision; & the lovefest will |
|
resume.
I've already heard the typical spin; whenever the admin makes an obvious mistake that backfires, the repubs simply say that "someone gave * bad advice." Why is it it's never *'s fault when he makes a bad decision, but always some nameless person giving him "bad advice"?
When he does something right in the repub minds, its always "hey, he's very intelligent and very decisive" and not, "well, someone gave him good advice on this one"?

11. Its the Bush ~MBA~ presidency |

Climb to (or be placed at) the top of the heap and then make decisions based on what your boot-licking sycophants advise. Take credit for anything that succeeds, blame those same boot-lickers for anything that fails. Simple as that. That's how corporations operate, too.

12. Yup. I was just thinking that. |

I know a whole host of repukes who revere Rush as the source of all greater truth. Anything he says in criticism of the shrub will have an effect on their perception of him. It's a rare goddamned occasion when the likes of Limbaugh might do our country a service, but this is one of 'em.

monitor Fox "news" on a daily basis too?
I don't know how you do it...Personally I like to support and give my ratings to liberal radio...It's not hard to know what the right-wing is thinking or up to without listening and supporting those clowns...Their crap is everywhere and people like Hartmann, Rhodes, Malloy are on it, exposing it and in their face.

...he is so vitriolic and so rancid---that your radio oozes adrenaline when he speaks.
The man screams his head off. He's like Jim Cramer on acid on steroids on crank.
I really don't know how the man is still alive.

16. I don't get liberal radio here... |
|
...as far as I know.
I do feel it's important to listen to the opposition. I think these people affect elections and what they say often becomes the repeated mantra of the right-wing masses. I think it's critical to know what is being said, in order to counter it and fight against it. If a snake slithered into my house, I wouldn't ignore it. I would watch its every move.
My total listening time today, was around an hour. I only listen in the car.
What can I say....I listened for an hour today and took one for the team!

18. This tells me this is all a charade |
|
Look, all these RW gasbags dutifully blurt out whatever Rove faxes out in the morning. That's why they're all the same. Here, they're all the same too. This tells me this is an orchestrated charade. Why? Well, it could just be a diversion to occupy enough news cycles to avoid coverage of something else. It could be a way to portray bush as a "caring" man who "cares about our security." It could even be a way to alter the price of the deal so another company (Carlyle) could snatch it up cheap.
In any case, this smells.
