I feel like I'm more confident now |
|
in bashing Bush at work now. I have less fear that I will make someone not like me at work. I am so mad at people who voted for Bush, esp. now with the current port security scandal in the news. Kerry warned us again and again that our ports were not secure. Bush either agreed to this scary deal or didn't know it had happened, both are sad statement on his ability to protect us. Bush claims that he didn't know. Kerry knew that we weren't being protected. And they didn't listen to him for many stupid reasons, i.e one coworker said she wouldn't vote for Kerry because she didn't like his wife.

1. You have nothing to fear from a bush supporter |
|
They are candy assed, ignorant cowards when alone. If in a group they huff and they puff like the lion in the Wizard of Oz. Stick to your guns, look them in the eye, poke them in the chest, kick them in the ass. Truth to a bush supporter is like water to the wicked witch. If a bush supporter does not like you, you will be much better off.

3. So last night at my local pub the new bartender (22 years old) |
|
was all excited about Lynn Swann running for governor. He asked me what I thought about it and I asked him if he was a repub. He responded that he was pretty conservative and so he was a repub.
I asked him why and he said because he felt the repubs were good on national security issues. I then asked him what he thought about the war - his response was he is all for it and thinks we need to do something about Iran as soon as possible.
I then asked him why he was standing behind a bar instead of in the sands of Iraq. He responded that his parents would not let him join the military. I chuckled and responded "Isn't that convenient" - others at the bar started laughing and making fun of his response. It was all very good-natured. He finally said - I guess that excuse works with kids my age but really doesn't work out in the general public.
Several of us continued the conversation with him about Bush and other repug issues just kind of gently pushing him on his incorrect perceptions. He eventually indicated he would re-think this whole repub thing and needs to get more information before he makes a fool of himself with such broad statements in front of anyone other than his family.
Welcome to the big world young man. He left work with a lot to think about.

onto an Army Recruiter and let him do his job. The recruiters like the references and there is nothing wrong with doing that. If he thinks we should "do something" about Iran then he can just sign up and help out.

6. I was most concerned about my immediate |

supervisor who is a Bush bot, but now I don't care. It's actually fun to say something in public these days, to see how people will chime in.
