Poll question: The next President. Is Bush's failure a Republican plan? |
|

Yeah, provocative subject line...you people don't listen otherwise ;)
The issue for consideration is as follows:
Bush isn't eligible to run again. This administration has made a lot of progress for their friends and their agenda, but alienated quite a few voters in the process. By running a "Hey, that was Bush...I'm not Bush" candidate, could they viably sell another Bush? Could they make the average voter believe in the "I'm a compassionate conservative...I'm a uniter, not a divider" thing AGAIN?

1. "They're gonna try to do it, but Americans are too smart for them." |

Americans have easily proven over the last 6 years they aren't "too smart" for a god damn thing.
My thoughts? They probably will go with the "uniter not divider" bullshit again. Whether or not the american people are stupid enough to fall for it again is a toss up.

But once Americans get fed up, that's it. Trying to sell the GOP again may be an uphill battle. This goes in cycles - Dems are in office, then the country wants to go another way. After 8 years of the Bush Gestapo tactics, America will likely want a break from the GOP for a while.
I know I do. :)
