Shouldn't it be called Medi-scare, not Medicare.

After all, no caps were placed on the costs of drugs just how much was paid by seniors. This means the difference is paid by taxpayers and borrowed funds from foreign countries just so this industry records higher profits. Lobbyists are loving it because for every $1 contributed they get $1,000+ back. NOw that's a return I wish I could make on my campaign! Kind of makes me want to take drugs. No wait....

Family, faith, flag....

1. How is it going up there Carl?
Is the campaign shaping up well? I would like to see a big upset in RI this year, to shake things up and get their attention!

5. I'd like to think of it as big "relief". What we have now is upsetting.

4. When do we start calling it national healthcare and take on
the need for contained and managed costs as a national priority?

7. This is an issue ever senior citizen is up in arms about
They are having a terrible time finding a plan that works for them-and sometimes find that this "benefit" will wind up costing them more than their old coverage did. Add to that this obvious scam by lobbyists and the Republicans-you'll have every Senior Citizen and many of their children voting for you!

8. Last month when the new "plan" took effect
I actually saw an elderly woman crying at the drugstore Carl! I was livid! Still am. The pharmacist and assistants said it was becoming a regular occurrence. That and the anger.

I believe that anyone that makes it to old age should never have to choose between heat, medicine and food. Actually no one should ever have to, but I digress.

I've heard people, rather repukes, claim, "well they should have saved for their retirement". How can one save for retirement if you cannot even afford to live in the present without decent living wages?

I have a daughter, age 27, and she is starting college soon. She wants something to get her into the job market in a year or so making a decent living. What do I tell her to take? We're in NW Pa. There is nothing here anymore.

Fight like hell Carl! We need you in the Senate to kick ass and take names!

In hope of peace,
V

15. jobs of the future
-plumbing
-auto repair
-electrical repair
-medical lab work
-any "hands-on" repair work that cannot be offshored
-low-paying service positions

Unfortunately, it looks like IT and tech jobs are gone forever.

I work with high-schoolers in Interact ("junior" Rotary), and I suggest they all have a fall-back occupation, in case their field of study later gets offshored.

16. Thanks kineneb! My daughter decided to try
medical assistant. I hope she can find employment.

Funny, back in the early 1970's I tried to take plumbing at the tech school and they wouldn't allow me to because I was a female. Said it wasn't proper! Times do change.

I seem to have heard somewhere that they are going to try to outsource ordering at the fast food places. You don't suppose they actually could do that do you? Anymore I'm not sure what might happen! lol

9. Hey Carl, here's a report from the front lines!
I work at Social Security's 800 number. We've been flooded with calls from people having problems with Medicare D. Several companies have already gone insolvent and refuse to pay benefits. Others misrepresented themselves and don't cover some drugs people need. But, the greatest crime has been committed against the mentally ill on Medicare and Medicaid. I've lost count of how many of them had no clue as to what was going on and they were assigned a plan that doesn't cover the drugs they need.

Also, 1-800-MEDICARE is staffed by the most incompetent partisan hacks. Time and time they pass the buck and don't do their job. Even one of my supervisors called 1-800-Medicare and asked for one of their supervisors to help a needy person. We cannot change their "D" coverage. Yet, the supervisor at 1-800-MEDICARE told my supervisor to call Social Security. The supervisor hung up on her.

Carl, it's insane!
