Who is aware of this voting change in New Orleans?
"Since the federal government has decided not to allow out of state satellite voting stations, people from New Orleans need to start thing (sic) outside the box. Here is my suggestion: 1. Charter buses from the outline states to transport people to LA to cast their votes." -klfranklin » Vieux Carre
I got this quote from this site, http://www.nola.com, courtesy of BOSSHOG. How many voters (the majority of whom are Democrats) will be effected by this?

5. I believe when the Dems re-take Congress
and they will as it is always cyclic regardless, investigations will begin in earnest, from 2000 on.
The Republicans have a pile of felonies to answer to, and disenfranchising black voters is something we will never just sweep under the carpet.

Patience.

6. They still have such a strong grip on all major areas of our
lives that I can see little hope. Hope you are right and that there is some vestige of our freedom left once they go.

9. Per the OP of the info, it was referenced on
Houston news recently for Katrina survivors living here, so even if these are the regular absentee rules, they are still valid and now valid for Katrina survivors.

14. I was at the astrodome and helped get people off buses and
saw the shape they were in and tried to help with the lack of papers, etc. that just helped showed that they were from NO. They are going to have hell getting the info they need to prove who and where they are so they can vote. Not to mention the fact that they are inundated with a few other problems in their lives.

8. Well, can we at least get some media feedback on this?
The answer, I am sure, is no. However, maybe we can contact AAR during this week of Mardi Gras and see if anyone will talk about it there.

12. Since they don't have a place to live anymore I doubt their registrations
...will be validated either...seein' how brown skinned people have been screwed all over the country in every election since 2000...even though they have permanent addresses and valid voter registrations.

15. I always thought that change of address cards that must have
been sent to the post office would be a way to track down residents, but no one listens to me.
Then, voter registration cards could be sent.
