Took me 20 years to realize I was a Democrat |
|
I was brought up in a apolitical environment. At the age of 19 the Iranian hostage crises was going on. I was young, dumb, and full of c*m and I couldn't figure out why Carter just didn't go over there and take care of business. Then came Reagan talking bull. I bought into it hook line and sinker.
As the years went on I kept buying into the big lie, liberals don't really care about America.
And then a moment of clarity came into my life. You see, my wife works for a very great program that deals with kids. The republicans came after that program with knives in hand.
I had to ask myself, why in god's name would anybody want to cut such a wonderfully program. And then the walls came crumbling down and I started noticing it everywhere. These revelations come into your life on rare occasions, and when they do, you better pay attention. Since then my entire mind process has changed.
Who are the patriots, in my mind, that will save America. Democrats without out a doubt.
Just answer this question: Who would more strongly agree with this statement (Democrats or Republicans):
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety
For me the answer is obvious.
Any yes,
Human Rights are important Womens Rights are important Civil Rights are important Workers Rights are important
Because for me, these things go to the very heart of what it means to be an American.

It feels good to know what's real. It pisses me off to see the abundant ignorance.

I figure I was lucky. I was politically aware rather early, as such things go. But I was surrounded by people who accepted what they were told without questioning. I never learned how NOT to question things. Here's something to give to people you think could stand to learn a few things about what we believe in. :) http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x540002

7. Welcome,, Welcome... We Need More Like You! |
|
You see, so many out there don't understand at all. Liberal IS NOT a dirty word. That came from RayGun, sorry if I offend you, but I've been here all along.
Too many of us have seen what has been happening for far too long! I personally know people right now who can't even live paycheck to paycheck and have lost ALL hope! I've helped as much as I possibly can, but I have to live too.
If this keeps up for much longer, well one can only WONDER!

8. The hype and the money spent on propaganda is blinding. MENTORING |
|
will overcome even the worse revisionism. History holds the answers, but we have to tap into a source that we can read between the lines. Old news accounts (civil war/vietnam) are full of the truths of our cultures innate biases and predjudices. EDUCATORS help, but you have to have money or sacrifice your youth to gain access to the college or the school where liberally minded, open minded worldly types hang out. READING the philosophers is rumored to be a good place to get "enlightened". know a guru?

10. If you ever want to melt the last little bit of warm feelings for the GOP |
|
"and I couldn't figure out why Carter just didn't go over there and take care of business. Then came Reagan talking bull. I bought into it hook line and sinker."
Read Gary Sick's "October Surprise" and you'll see why Carter couldn't get the hostages released but they were released for the patriotic GOP minutes after Reagan was sworn in.
Meanwhile, welcome back. It's a long process.

11. That is why they like to use actors & propaganda on our own people! |
|
In fact they must! No rational person would support their programs unless they were tricked into it. The repupliCons are nothing if not masterful in spinning fabulous yarns which an eager public laps up willingly, desperate to believe they are free citizens living in the best place in the entire world.
