One thing that really upsets me about Lieberman ....
was his quick capitulation after the 2000 election....

He completely undermined the democrats effort...

On the November 19, 2000 MTP, Lieberman basically caved when he said the Dem's should give the military vote the benefit of the doubt thus opening the door for patriotism and bush jingoism to ram through the oversea "illegal" vote....

It's also because he ran for the Senate while on the ticket.. Legal, for sure, but it sure looked like Joe was hedging his bets....

It isn't that he is liberal or conservative...

It isn't that he supported the Vanity war....

It's because he is a pussy and personifies everything the right has spent decades and billions on trying to define the democratic party...

That's why I don't particularly care for Joe....

His voting record is good...

But he has no spine....

I'll be with you until I have to be.... Should be his motto....

2. Joe Lieberman is committed to Israel.
He will sacrifice everything else he believes in, in order to give Israel whatever it thinks it needs.

17. You're kidding, right? This thread supports my position, not yours.
If Joe can be assured that the Israel embargo that the UAE has against Israel, will not apply on US soil, he will go balls to the wall over this deal because it will make him very happy that he can please Bush, and please Israel.

19. No, it doesn't!
From the KOS piece: "One of the uglier attacks on Joe Lieberman is that he has "divided loyalties" because he's Jewish. Apparently, that means he puts Israel's interests above America's.

But today we have definitive proof that Lieberman's divided loyalties aren't to Israel, but to George W. Bush." source

You are making your own assertions.

6. He's commited to the tyranny of religious fascism
As with most pliable, unthinking, blind dogmatists, their faith in the socialist fairytales of their "Red Books" replaces responsibilitiy, common sense, decency and reality.

16. Haven't you been watching the news?
(1) Abramoff's partners in crime are running off to Israel to escape extradition laws. Abramoff is a staunch supporter of Israel.

(2) Israel sold attack drones to China, and the US is up in flames over it.

(3) The Neo-cons are not going to be happy until they draft our kids to fight a war that will benefit Israel.

(4) They haven't been very good about keeping our secrets, which tells me that they are playing as many sides of the field as they think they need to in order to stay friends with our enemies that don't border their country, and who may actually supply those Arab countries with weapons. Think about it.

18. no...i read it.

You obviously don't understand extradition laws. Israel has extradited to the US before. Usually, if the death penalty is not involved. Also, they would have to be Israeli citizens. Besides, those reports were shown to be incorrect if I remember correctly.

(2) Israel sold attack drones to China, and the US is up in flames over it.

So?

(3) The Neo-cons are not going to be happy until they draft our kids to fight a war that will benefit Israel.

That is your opinion. The Neo-cons only want two things: domination and oil (money).

(4) They haven't been very good about keeping our secrets, which tells me that they are playing as many sides of the field as they think they need to in order to stay friends with our enemies that don't border their country, and who may actually supply those Arab countries with weapons. Think about it.

Conjecture based on falsehoods and rare occasions. As for being 'friends' with Arab nations that don't border it...that's just incredibly stupid. Only Egypt and Jordan officially recognize Israel. Does it mean that clandestine things aren't happening? It is very possible, but still nothing more than speculation.

Never again. He has kicked me in the teeth one too many times. I wish he would wake up and remember "who brought him to the dance".

11. Lieberman is the consumate insider....
Finagling, trying to get the best deal possible...

And not afraid to retreat....

Unfortuatly, the GOP and a lot of people in this country take that as a sign of weekness...

Hense the dislike a great many of us have for Mr. Lieberman...
