4. There is a good chance that the one who wins the most primaries |
|
and caucuses will get the most delegates. I know I am going out on a limb here, but I think Kerry is headed in the right direction.

I'm kinda new to paying attention to the primaries so this question may be a little dumb but: Lets say Kerry wins more primaries, but Dean has more delegates (kinda like it is now). Who would get the nomination??? Thanks this will clear up a lot

11. Whomever gets more delegates wins.... |
|
Winning primaries can get you more delegate if you have enough margin. But there can be a theoretical case in which one candidate never wins, the delegates are split among the other candidates in a way that they still have fewer delegates. The one with no wins would win... Interesting, uh ?

So, why is it that when I look at the chart on cnn.com they have delegates already awarded to candidates in states that have yet to have a primary?

|
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=245745I know the question is different "who gets more delegates"/"who do you prefer", but you may like to edit the title to clear it up. :hi:

the odds are greater that Dean doesn't win one contested primary or caucus than that we wins the nomination...

12. Binary is not only a noun. It is used here as adjective, |
|
qualifying the missing, but implied, word "choice"... As in "binary choice"...

13. I was really tired of the Dean bashing a few weeks ago. |
|
I thought he did well with Russert this morning.
Now, I am equally tired of the Kerry bashing. I am concerned that we are doing the repukes work for them.
I remain uncommitted to either, and ABB.

sadly it is a self-perpetuating cycle. Folks feel justified in their pokes because someone else poked earlier - I would bet that were a different candidate now in the front, they would now be receiving (and their candidates dishing out) the same thing. Sad. I think the dishing is more about high fiving and gotchas among candidate-partisan supporters than it is about any discussion at all. And the end result is further intra-party polarization - as folks feel completely righteous in their disrespect to candidates and to one another because someone else already said something they found to be disrespectful. I don't see it ending anytime soon.
