John Warner: "The president is not perceived as breaking the law."
Let's see -- the law requires warrants, he didn't get warrants, but he's not "perceived" as breaking the law. :wtf:

2. Whose perception?
I think most people perceive Bush as breaking the law, and the Senate as letting him get away with it.

Warner must be talking only to White House staffers.

3. That's my senator - ugh! Did he just say this on the Senate floor?
My other "esteemed" senator George Allen) called himself a Jeffersonian conservative on tv yesterday - he's either lying or seriously delusional!

Guess I've got some letters to write!

He want to put the president above the law!

8. But Even If The Law Is Changed, Sir
That will not alter the state of the law at the time the Crawford Coward blatantly and knowingly broke it: indeed, changing the law is tantamount to confession it was broken previously....

5. In other words
If you break the law blatantly, and nobody holds you accountable, you've gotten away with it.

6. Clinton wasn't t perceived s breaking the law either....

but that didn't stop the Repugs from going on the rampage over an evasive answer and white lie about a sexual affair.

I guess that's worse than a president who has almost openly stated that he decied that a law protecting the privacy rights of all Americans was too inconvenient to follow.

12. A GOP misperception...

If they don't perceive it, that is an obvious misperception on their part. From their view, though, if it is "not perceived" then it didn't happen, sort of like the proverbial tree in the woods.
