Bush launches PR offensive on Iraq
As popularity sags, president urges ‘patience’ to complete mission

WASHINGTON - With approval ratings flagging, and growing concern about Iraq's conflict spiraling into a civil war, President Bush launched a new public relations drive Monday to bolster support for the U.S. presence there, saying, "We will not lose our nerve."

2. I don't think they're informing him of the news.

The Feb. 22 bombing of a Shiite mosque in Iraq led to the deaths of hundreds in reprisal attacks. But though many fear the country may still be on the brink of civil war between rival Muslim sects, Bush said he was confident that would not happen.

"The Iraqi people made their choice. They looked into the abyss and did not like what they saw," he said. "By their response over the last two weeks, Iraqis have shown the world they want a future of freedom and peace and they will oppose a violent minority."

MEANWHILE...

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Police found four hanged men dangling from electricity pylons in a Baghdad Shiite slum Monday, hours after car bombs and mortars shells ripped through teeming market streets, killing at least 58 people and wounding more than 200.

4. Yeah, we'll see how his nerves are in a few months . . .
Every time he opens his mouth, he loses ground. Just too g-d stoopid to figure it out.

He is a total, total, sociopathic lunatic.

5. sagging polls = "PR Defensive"
Since he is defending something under attack, by definition this would be a defensive PR campaign. Semantics to the bitter end.

6. His speech was very flat
Say what you will about him, GW has been a good salesman in the past, conveying a sense of passion and belief that effectively bamboozled people.

But his speech today seemed flat and just another rehashing of the same old shit, without the enthusism.

7. It's so ridiculous, that's all he ever does, and...
...he's not even that good at it.

I'd love to see a report on how much these PR circuits are costing us, "The American Tax Payer."

It's amazing that know body seems to notice that, this is the SAME thing as the old un-popular South American Dictator's did, and some of the world's Dictators still do, the difference is, * does it "on the road" instead of from the office of "El Presidente."

13. This is how flat he is without a fawning audience.
Bush must have the approval of his pining audience, otherwise, he's flat.

He was sleepwalking through that one.
